Me and music...

As They say,"Destiny brings them together" for each and everything that is attached with some other thing. The same could be said about me and music too. Way back in 1991, when I was too young to think what to do or what not to, I could still sing songs and use a steel vessel for giving myself some kind of rhythm.

Too much cautious about the type of locality, my family decided that I'd rather spend my time learning something than playing with the local community(which was starting to show its colours pretty soon). As I wasn't bad in studies, tutions were out of question. But then one day my big bro came up with something that changed me thereafter. He admitted my to my first music class in May'95 where I started learning synthesizer. My dedication and hardwork led my teacher to nominate me for a show at AIR. And there I was at Radio Station, Katanga on 12th Dec'95 for our first recording!!!

One year later, my tutor shifted my to drums, which weren't suiting me that well. So I left the class and was on my own!!! In the meantime, I performed on a couple of ocassions in "Nava Durga Jagratas" and were starting to get some offers... Then came the April of 2000, when a cute little boy came to me to learn synthesizer. I was literally shocked to hear that he saw me play at my friend's b'day party, and that he asked that friend about me. B'coz I had no assignments, of school or anything, I agreed to teach him whatever I could. Goodnes Man... This boy was awesome. He was learning quickly and I felt much confident day by day.

The same boy came to my some days later to tell me that there is a music class near my home. And there came the second turnaround. I joined this class to learn an instrument whose name is still not so common among most of the music lovers, Modified archtop(hawaiine) guitar or simply "Mohan Veena" for its creator is a Greamme Award Winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt.
This Instrument brought me the level of glory that I had never seen before. Basically a classical instrument, I learnt a lot about music through it. I won many awards at state, zonal and district level while in school.

As I entered the world of undergraduates, a lot of things were different. But it didn't affect me and my passion though. Here too, it was the only thing that most people knew me for. But the turnaround over here was that I had started singing again. Before that, I always thought that I won't make a good singer. But that was me. My regular practice in the first year with one of my classmates helped me grow in confidence, and so I got chance to sing at every ocassion I could. The biggest ones have been the two songs that our team created for the college!!!

By the end of my graduation, I have learned a fair bit on spanish guitar. So now I am able to complement my singing along with it! Also created a song once, may be some people might just remember what it was, and especially when it was!!! But thats another story.....

Its still good to know that people know me for something good.... and that I would always owe my family for that!!!!! Thanks to all...
